Speakers

  • Luciano Canfora

    Emeritus Professor at the "Aldo Moro" - University of Bari
    L.C. is Professor Emeritus of Greek and Latin Philology at the University of Bari and one of the most distinguished historians at national and international level. He is a member of the Scientific Committee of the Society for Classical Tradition (Boston) and of the Fondazione Istituto Gramsci (Rome). He is editor of the journal Quaderni di Storia and of the book series La città antica, and serves on the editorial boards of several international journals. His research focuses on ancient history, Greek and Roman literature, the history of classical scholarship, and the relationship between politics and culture in the twentieth century. Many of his books have been translated into numerous languages.
