The main research topics are:
- historic buildings analysis (phasing and building techniques); petrological analysis applied to the study of ancient monuments (identification of different lithological types and their quarries);
- archiving techniques and historic investigation based on primary sources (iconographic and written); overview of ancient measuring units used in architecture;
- field data management (from single context recording to the computerized approach); 2D and 3D historic building survey techniques.
Through lectures and practical activities, students learn how to investigate historical architecture.
